Although it is not necessary, we recommend that you contact your insurance company to learn more about your mental health benefits prior to calling about new patient availability. (If you haven’t had a chance to visit our insurance page already, we have provided you with a helpful list of questions to ask your carrier about your benefits.)

Is Telehealth Offered?

Yes, Dr. Hajek offers telepsychiatry appointments.

Location

Due to health care regulations, you must be physically located in Washington state at the time of your appointment.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

This varies based on your particular situation, but a very rough estimate is

  • once weekly visits until you notice significant improvement in your symptoms then
  • twice a month visits until your symptoms are gone then
  • once a month to once a quarter visits while you are taking psychiatric medication.

How Long Are The Visits?

An initial evaluation appointment is approximately 60 minutes long.

The follow up visits vary between 20 – 60 minutes depending on your symptoms and whether you and Dr. Hajek decide on a course of medication management alone, medication management and psychotherapy, or therapy alone.

Your First Visit

What Do I Need To Do?

The clinic will send you forms to complete prior to your initial visit.

In addition you should also provide a copy of 1) your driver’s license and 2) your insurance card.

How Early Should I Arrive?

We ask that you check in at least approximately 10 minutes prior to your visit.

What If I Am Late?

Dr. Hajek believes in respecting your time. Barring any urgencies, she strives to be punctual. Depending on how late you arrive, she might be able to see you for the remainder of the visit, but out of consideration to all of her patients she will be unable to extend the length of the appointment past the usual end time.

What If I Need To Cancel?

Dr. Hajek reserves time in her schedule specifically for you. She does not double book in her practice. Whether you are a new or established client, two full business days (48 hours) notice are required if you need to cancel an appointment. Business days are Monday through Friday and do not include weekends or holidays.

If you are 1) unable keep the appointment that was reserved specifically for you 2) and unable to give the required notice, you will be charged the full fee for the visit. This fee is not covered by insurance.

What Will Take Place At My First Visit?

This is an opportunity for you and Dr. Hajek to meet and find out if you are a good fit for each other. During the session Dr. Hajek will listen to your concerns and goals, carefully evaluate your history and symptoms, and will identify the most effective treatment options to help you feel better.

Can A Family Member or Friend Attend The Appointment?

Of course, whatever makes you comfortable. It has been Dr. Hajek’s experience though that having a family member or friend accompany you for part, or all, of a session is best done after the initial visit has taken place.
